Jean Seaton is professor of media history at the University of Westminster and director of the Orwell Prize for Political Writing and Journalism. She has written widely on the media and wars and conflicts, the history of the media, media policy and politics and the media. She is on the board of Full Fact, the Orwell Youth Prize and the Reuters Institute as well as a number of academic journals. She runs a pioneering Foreign Office project with Indian and Pakistani journalists. She is currently working on a research project with the Imperial War Museum and the BBC on the history of BBC Monitoring. As official historian of the BBC her most recent book is ‘Pinkoes and Traitors’: the BBC and the Nation 1974-87′ published in 2015.
