Professor Angela Phillips teaches journalism and journalism studies at Goldsmiths, University of London. She is the co-author of Misunderstanding News Audiences (2018), author of Journalism in Context (2014) and co-author of Changing Journalism (2010). She launched the local news website EastLondonLines in 2009. She gave evidence to the Cairncross review on the future of the British Press in 2018 and the Leveson Inquiry into the Culture, Practices and Ethics of the British Press in 2011. She is last, but not least, the 2019 holder of the Philosophy Now award for Contributions in the Fight Against Stupidity.
