Prof. Dr. Tim Raats lectures in the political economy of the creative industries at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and is a senior researcher at iMinds-SMIT. He holds a PhD in Media and Communication Studies and has worked on a dissertation on the role of public service media in a networked society. Tim’s scientific fields of interest include various topics within broadcasting, television production and audio-visual support policies. He specializes in public service media partnership strategies, the coherence of audio-visual support policies and the sustainability of TV drama financing and production in small nations. Tim is also part of the MeCETES research team, which investigates circulation and distribution patterns in film and television across Europe.
