Patrick Barwise (www.patrickbarwise.com ) is emeritus professor of management and marketing at London Business School and former chairman of Which?. He joined LBS in 1976 after an early career at IBM and has published widely on management, marketing and media. His 1988 book with Andrew Ehrenberg, Television and its Audience, has never been out of print. His publications on broadcasting policy include his Independent Review of the BBC’s Digital Television Services (DCMS, 2004); two Reuters Institute reports with Robert Picard, The Economics of Television in a Digital World (2012) and What If There Were No BBC Television?: The Net Impact on UK Viewers (2014); and a report for C4 with Gillian Brooks, The Consequences of Privatising Channel 4 (2016).
