Nick Pearce is director of the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), the UK’s leading progressive think-tank. He rejoined the institute in September 2010 after two years as head of the Downing Street Policy Unit. An author and regular commentator, Nick writes on a wide range of public policy issues. He is a co-editor of Juncture, the journal of political ideas.
In addition to running the Downing Street Policy Unit, Nick has worked as an advisor in the Home Office, the Cabinet Office and the former Department for Education and Employment. He is currently chair of trustees for the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships, a member of the board of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and a member of the UK–India Roundtable.
