Jane retired recently after over 40 years in the Civil Service. Her career dealt with shaping the policy and regulatory framework for telecommunications and broadcasting, from the early days of a privatised BT, through the radical changes in mobile telecoms and the digital TV switchover, culminating with the UK Spectrum Strategy.
During the 12 years of the TV switchover programme, she was also part of the BBC charter review team, led the creative economy team and developed the digital radio action plan. From 2000 Jane’s work meant close engagement with DCMS and in 2011 she was formally transferred to DCMS.
