David is currently director of policy at Ofcom, where he is responsible for a team working on UK policy issues spanning the broadcasting and wider communications sector. Previously David was chief advisor to the CEO of Ofcom and then director of content policy, where he was responsible for broadcasting and online policy. In addition, David spent a year working in government as a director of the Digital Britain project, which set the government’s strategy for the UK communications sector.
Before joining Ofcom David was a lawyer at Richard Butler specialising in UK and EC Competition Law with a particular focus on the media sector, including a spell working in house for MTV Networks Europe. Before that he was administrator for the Government’s Football Task Force where he worked on a number of sports issues, including in relation to securing funding for grassroots football to drive participation and engagement.
