Clare was the Chief of Staff to the BBC Director General and is now the Director of Policy. She joined the BBC in January 2014 and previously worked in the Civil Service where she was the Director of the Civil Service Reform Programme. Clare began her career in the Civil Service in 1994. She has been Private Secretary to the then Prime Minister, Tony Blair, as well as working as a director in her Majesty’s Courts Service and advising the Lord Chancellor on human rights policy.
